Royal Canadian Navy scandal kept under wraps with help of MSM

A somewhat recent Maclean's magazine article (Canada's Time, except, amazingly, more left wing) was headlined: The (Canadian Vice Admiral) Mark Norman firing mystery. Then goes on to provide absolutely no analysis whatsoever regarding the mystery, other than putting it down to Canadian defence bureaucracy. There's some hard hitting news from Canada's newsmagazine, about the largest scandal to hit Canadian politics since... well ever, nothing comes close, the Sponsorship Scandal pales in comparison to the the ongoing Navy shipbuilding scandal. With the exception that the media this time won't touch it. Another article earlier this year from Canada's national broadcaster, the CBC, written by senior defence reporter, Murray Brewster, mentioned the vice admiral's removal, then did the bait and switch to the pervious Conservative government's purchase of sea sparrow missiles. That story was a non-scandal scandal the leftist media has tried to promote,...

The conservative leadership race according to Lauren Southern

To be fair the above headline should include Faith Goldy, but there's only so much room. At any rate the two Rebel Media reporters posted a piece online attempting to explain the Canadian Conservative Party leadership race to be decided this May. It's a crucial choice for a party that's gotten it so wrong, so many times, and to bungle it this time means another four years of Justin Trudeau, and he's already done a lot of damage. If you're as yet unfamiliar with the boy king (his father, Pierre, ruled Canada for 16 years) then check out this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZntyiqpWKw&t=48s  And that's no exaggeration, a lot of his 'finest' moments didn't even make the cut. However back to the Tory leadership race, as far as anyone sensible person should be concerned right-leaning Maxine Bernier is the only choice for Canada. And to her credit, Lauren Southern chose Bernier as her top pick for Conservative leader and (hopefully) Prime...

Ezra Levant, World's Biggest Hypocrite

Well perhaps Ezra Levent isn't the world's biggest hypocrite, but he's certainly up there. Why pray tell? You might ask. And I will tell you, Levant portrays himself as the tireless champion of free speech, but when it comes to any criticism of Canadian corporate media he will do all in his power to silence said criticism, including slandering yours truly. Why does someone I've never met spread slander about me? I surmise there can be only one reason for him to do so, because I dared to compete against his buddies at Glacier/Post Media. In Canada, if you dare to challenge the market share of the corrupt media companies you will find yourself viciously slandered, possibly subject to phone hacking and blacklisted as a journalist (when it comes to evil corporations they're pretty much the model). Levant began his career with a Glacier Media affiliate and believe me, he would not have been allowed to pursue any of his subsequent media projects without their...

DON'T support Rebel Media!

The above headline might seem odd coming from a right-leaning libertarian website, but I assure you it isn't. Rebel Media is on a fundraising kick this holiday season, hoping to be the Breitbart News of the north. But they can never be Breitbart News for one fundamental reason, they are not a truly independent media outlet like Breitbart. Media in Canada (and yes I'm speaking from firsthand experience) is about as corrupt as it gets. In print media four major companies control just about everything, and to make matters worse, they don't compete against each other, they illegally collude to secure monopoly markets for themselves. And on top of that, they are inter-owned. Of the four print media companies, Glacier Media, Black Press, Torstar and Post Media, Post Media owns (approximately) 15 percent of Glacier, and Torstar owns 15 percent of Black Press. Now you might think the two inter-owned entities would at least compete against each other, but you'd be wro...

Crooks and hypocrites: Canadian media in a nutshell

It all started a few weeks back with Globe and Mail columnist Lawrence Martin bemoaning the state of print media in Canada. Then Martin who never saw a government spending solution in search of a problem he didn't like followed with a suggestion that newspapers should be subsidized by the government. This was followed by the CBC's announcement they were getting into the news publishing business (online) and its condemnation from the gang over at the Rebel Media (born out of the ashes of Sun TV) crying foul over CBC's move into the (digital) newspaper game. Brian Lilley recorded a monologue about Canada's heavily subsidized broadcaster muscling in on the private enterprise, and supposedly at-arms-length from government, newspaper business.  Except its not true, not even remotely. Canada's newspaper media has the most monopolistic ownership of any industrialized democracy... okay, we're about on par with Venezuela, wonderful, how proud we should all be in...
